Cat, my iPad broke and hopefully it's getting fixed! I have my Sister iPad and it's old and freezes up on me so I can't play my games! Sorry I don't know when I can gift again in Happy Street so please just skip me! I'll let you know when I'm back up and running!

Thank You Mom for remembering me in my birthday month. On the 26th, my birthday, I'll be opening my purple boxes, posting what I got, and then deleting the game so I can upload iOS 11.

Snoopy Mom this endless 90 degree so humid you don’t want to do anything/stormy rainy weather is getting quite old here too. I have a lovely new rocker for my backyard so I can read out there, but I’ve hardly been able to use it. It’s either too sunny, humid and hot, too cloudy so there are mosquitoes, or storming with downpours. Inside I have the bedroom AC on 24/7 but once I leave that room it’s awful. My Mom has been here often but it’s really hard on her too. We just have fans going in the other rooms; at her house she has an AC big enough to do her living room/ kitchen/dining room area. Geesh I wish we’d get some warm, sunny, and dry days with a nice breeze!! Especially since it’s going to be back to work time in a couple of weeks.Comment

Ugh, cat...I know exactly what you mean. We bought some new patio furniture this year, but have hardly been able to use it. Just too hot/humid, even in the shade most days.
As for AC, I am plenty pleased to have it throughout the house, but the last bill nearly broke the bank. Now as of August 1st, our electric rates went up 19% (yes, you read that correctly!), so I absolutely DREAD the next utility bill.Last edited by Snoopy Mom; 08-08-2018, 08:37 PM.

Cat, my daughter & I bought a few at a Paper Store location in Nashua (Exit 8 area). They had varios animals--seal, pig, penguin, sheep, etc. No licensed characters. Thanks Snoopy Mom! Hey, how do you like the Merrimack Outlets? My friend and I were just doing our usual Christmas Tree/Kohl’s/Michaels/Lilac Blossom run last week and she asked me if I had been there. I haven’t yet. -
Well now there's a loaded question...
I'm not a big mall shopper (regular or outlet), so overall the MMK Outlets aren't that big a deal to me. If my husband & I go up there to shop, it's usually some place like the Bose store or Converse; maybe Sunglasses Hut. That said, I think overall they've been a decent addition to the retail base of the community, although it will be interesting to see where it goes. Bricks & mortar retail seem to be on the wane overall at the hands of online shopping, although personally I prefer to shop in person for many things. There is a mixed-use second phase being planned to include a hotel, more restaurants and "luxury" apartments.
The MMK Outlets began as "Premium"--high end, name brand shops, including things like Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Sak's Fifth Avenue, Coach, Michael Kors, etc. Over the years since it's been open, though, a good number of the original retailers have left and have been replaced with more "regular" shops. For instance, recently Old Navy opened up a store, and Bath & Body Works is in the process of opening up shop. (That one will be *dangerous* for me--lol!)
A great deal of the traffic the outlets see is from not only out of state (MA residents, like yourself), but out of the country. Lots and lots of shoppers come down from Canada, for instance, many of whom are international residents of Canada. The elder of my sons has had a retail job there for several years during college and is still working there this summer following graduation. He is shipment manager for the Disney Store, and that location is one of the busiest non-amusement park locations in the world, even though it's not that large a shop. Tons of their customers come in and really do not speak English (ex: French, various Asian and Middle Eastern dialects, etc.) He studied Arabic for years, and while he doesn't consider himself fluent, he has had occasion to try and use it while working.
Anyway, the setting is very attractive, although (as you well know), New England weather can be fickle, running in extremes both hot and cold, so outdoor
"outlet" setting can be challenging at times. Apparently weekends and holidays can be difficult to find parking up there.

Thanks for the info Snoopy Mom! I hadn’t even heard about them until recently. I will have to go check out the Disney store! There was one at the Solomon Pond mall near me but it left a few years ago. I’m always looking for Eeyore stuff. Malls around here seem to be struggling. Anchor stores are closing and there are more and more vacant store fronts. I’ve never been big on malls—we didn’t have any where I grew up (close to the Brookline NH border) until I was a teenager, and it wasn’t a hang-out kind of place then. But all the individual stores we used to have (Caldors, Bradlees, Lechmeres, Circiut City, etc) are all long gone.
The “mixed use” concept is big where I live now, although I don’t see much success yet. We have all kinds of projects going on—new hotels, buildings with retail on the first floor, offices on the second, apartments on the upper levels. But we also have a lot of these spaces still vacant or stopped in planning limbo.
Every time I go around the 101A Nashua area I’m amazed at the constant development going on. And it seems to be able to support all this growth very well. That area has changed dramatically since I was young. It was way more townish and way less cityish when we were going through all the time. But then the Lakes Region was all cottages, cabins, campgrounds, scenic view areas, family run Santa’s Village kind of places and really rustic back when we spent summers there. It’s definitely different now too.
Thanks for the link too. There are some stores there I’d like to go to. And any mall that has a Dairy Queen must be OK. I’ve been going to them since I was a little kid. Our Searstown had one for awhile but it left along with the McDonalds. And even though I’m really liking Tutti Fruiti frozen yogurt now, I’m still a big Misti and Blizzard fan.

Wow Ah Piggy you already have so many safari items! I don’t have enough safari tickets to get the two giraffes, monkeys, trucks, etc yet. I’m finding the past couple of updates harder and harder to make items for. Each one needs many other items to make, more than they used to. All those stuffed animals for example! Geesh. I started and I’ll keep working on it, but they’re asking for a lot. I like to have something to work for but I also like it to be attainable without playing 24/7! I’m off to check in and start a new batch of items....... -
