  • Can someone please explain how the Storage Hut upgrade is supposed to work?

Hey guys, I purchased the storage building upgrade for 20 smurfberries which was supposed to give me the ability to store multiple items at one time an to sell excess items but I cannot figure out how to do either of these things. Could someone explain this to me?

    Thank you!

I thought selling items only happened if you purchased the Exchange Hut which is a real money EO. I have that and when I go into move mode I will see a little yellow circle with a $ sign in it if I can sell the item for coins

I am unaware of a storage unit upgrade that allows you to do these things. Is this maybe for SV Magic Meadow and not the original SV?

As far as I know, you need to use Handy's Vacuum to store multiple items at once, and use Exchange Hut to sell stored items for coin.

Or, is this a new add-on feature I didn't notice?
Checked my storage units and there is no option to upgrade them, nor is there one in the Structures menu.

It's definitely there, but with so many upgrades over the years it's an easy one to forget. :P

I don't know of a storage upgrade option, either.

Cupcake I couldn't recall one at first either, then finally remembered it.

nataliecw Hey there! I think there might be a bit of confusion but I'll try and help you clear it up.

The Storage Hut upgrade gives you the ability delete multiple items at once, not store them. If you would like to store multiple items at once, you'll need to purchase Handy's Vacuum. Additionally, the Storage Hut upgrade gives you the ability to sell items directly from your Storage, but you must also own the Exchange Hut/Machine for it to work. If you still have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I upgraded it and all it shows is little trashcan button option now. Does that mean if it’s upgraded again that it will allow to sell things? Or is everything not sell able like the flowers that you don’t grow and etc?

@[email protected] You must have the Exchange Hut to be able do sell items. Do you have that? [Read #5 above.]

BTW, if you read this I suggest you change your forum name to something other than your email, as your email name cannot be ‘tagged’ to alert you to replies. Maybe just use hummin2.

You know what would be really useful? If we had item descriptions telling us what upgrades do.

I always thought upgrading a storage meant that it had more space, like going from say 3000 to 5000 items. There is no way I would have ever guessed that upgrading gives the ability to mass delete items. Is that what an upgrade does in all areas?

We also had someone recently ask about farmer's upgrade and how to get the plant all function. Is there a way for Bongfish to maybe add what upgrades do to the item description? So for Farmer (and Wildling, I believe it is, for his palm trees) something like ''First upgrade enables 'Harvest All', second upgrade 'Plant All' '' and for storages ''Upgrade enables deleting multiple items at once''. That would be really useful.

Yes, I like that. I want to know what I'm getting when I buy something.

Even if it isn't in the game, how about a thread on your site or here that spells out the ins and outs of upgrades.

That was why I started going to the other site, buying items that didn't do what the description suggested. So get burned a couple of times you start to feel the need to research before you spend precious berries on an upgrade that may or may not be worth it.

Thank you for the clarification - I've been playing this game for over 5 years and still find things like this that trip me up. I love the idea of a thread that explains upgrades. Now knowing what this upgrade is supposed to do, I'm still confused about one thing, how does it allow me to delete multiple items at once? I've tried multiple things but it will still only allow me to highlight one item at a time to delete, for example, shells.

Have you bought the upgrade for the island storage? Or only one upgrade for the main village? Because the upgrade only works for the area you purchased it in, not all areas. So if you bought it in the MV but want to mass delete shells, you will also have to upgrade your island storage.

I haven't upgraded my storage units so I am not 100% sure, but I think I remember seeing it in pictures of others: You can't select multiple items that are currently in your village, but you can select multiple copies of the same item in your storage. As in, you can't delete all shells from your beach, but you can store them one by one, then click on your island storage, scroll to where the shells are, select one type, and then via the + and - buttons select a certain number. Tapping once will mean one more, you can't just leave your finger on the plus and it'll keep counting. So if you want to delete 50 purple sea stars, you will have to click 49 times on the plus button until it says '50'. I don't quite know how to proceed then, but I guess you will have the option to either place those 50 sea stars or delete them.

You can only delete multiples of a single item at a time.

I could adjust the counter up to delete 2 or 3 of these Sand Houses with one tap of the OK button, but I can't delete the Sand Houses and the red mushrooms all at the same time. It's a handy feature if you have a habit of automatically storing coin items instead of selling them while redecorating. I use it to clean my storage out about once every 3 months or so.

As you two have mentioned this info being in a thread here: That works for us, but not for all those players who don't visit the forum, which I assume means the majority. Not to mention that time and time again we have people register here to ask a question without using the search function first or looking at previous threads. We have had it several times that somebody asked a question that a thread already existed of - two (or a few) places down in this forum section. Had they had a look at the section they made a new thread in, just a short look at the very first page, no digging needed, they would have seen it. So even if we have a thread here with that info, most people wouldn't profit from that. It could be a start. Make a thread now and implement it into the game later. But I don't think it's the right solution.

I hear ya. Like I said above, i've been burned by buying things that sound or read different than they really are.

It's a bad feeling. You think you get something but oops, no, you misundestood. Reporter's hut, I think, also was one of those that disappointed me. It suggested that you get an extra bonus if you buy the hut. No word about the SB upgrade necessary to get the bonus... But I think he only cost coins, so it wasn't too bad, but when you aren't very far yet, coins are also precious. More info in descriptions would be nice.
      Working...
