Important Announcement: Fixes and changes made in version 1.49.0 to address ongoing issues

Hey there Smurfs’ Villagers! The Flashman and Bongfish Teams are proud to bring you all a new and exciting update filled with great content and some pretty big in-game changes.

They’ve given us a highlighted list of some of the important fixes and changes made in the 1.49.0 update. Myself, Twinkiepie, and Guest all hope that you enjoy the update. Please remember that if you have any issues please report them here, or in a designated problem topic. You also submit a ticket with Customer Support and they’ll get back to you as soon as possible.


New and Improved User Interface

• A Smurfy new update with a Smurftastic new look! When opening the app you will now immediately enter the game after it’s done loading. Speaking of loading screens, those should be faster now too! The Social button in the bottom left corner of the UI has been changed. The redesigned button now opens the new in-game Menu. From this new Menu you can visit friends, adjust settings, and do all the other functions that you previously could access from the old the Main Menu.

New Quests for Smurfwillow in the Grove

• In addition to all of the other benefits you get from placing Smurfwillow’s Hut in the Grove, she now gives out a Daily quest!

More adjustments have been made to Enamored Smurf’s Romantic Rose Event

• We’ve heard the feedback from those of you on Smaller Devices! The tappable area around the flowers has been increased. It should now be easier to tap on the flowers even when zoomed out. The total number of flowers has been increased to 25, but you only need to find and tap on 20 to win the event!

Adjustments have been made to Dreamy’s New Captain Hat quest on the Island

• This early Island quest required you to collect Dye from rafts, however it could not be completed unless two rafts were sent out on Dye voyages at the same time. In an effort to clear up confusion, the quest text has been changed from “Send out 2 rafts to collect Dye” to “Send out 2 rafts simultaneously to collect Dye”.

IOS and Android players can visit each other’s villages

• It should now be possible for Android players and IOS players to visit their Facebook friends. While you can not send one another gifts yet, this is a big first step. Please let us know if you are seeing your cross platform friends showing up on the Neighbor Map!

MsBee I was trying to do a recover on my game and I did a restart. By mistake and when I hit Poppa Smurf head it will not let me do a recover. What can I do. Playing on a I-Pad Air IOS is up to date. Sorry kinda scared... I know in wrong place.

Hey ern57 When you go to the new menu, you will see Papa's head. Try tapping on his face again for 16 times until you see the Restart button change into a Recover button. Then check the list of dates for your village.

Great. But after all this time I still can't get a Smurfy rating on painting flowers

It is hard. what worked for me is to use the big brush, get hte colors in place then erase to neatness.

Now the smurf hut, I tried for. a year to get a smurfy rating until I gave up.

Could be a bug, could be bad luck. My friend managed maybe three smurfy since she started playing. She's in her 90s (levels not age). I tried it on her device (Samsumg tablet) and it is different and more difficult than on mine (iPad). On mine, the paint is where my finger is. On hers, the paint is above the finger. Took me a few times before I got the hang of it on her device and a lot of times until I got a smurfy. On my device I get a smurfy 99/100 times if not 100/100. On her's there was a time when I got let's say 40/100 and then 75/100. Maybe it's an Android thing, maybe it's a device thing, maybe it's random bad luck. But as Skydiver said: It can be difficult to get a hang of some games and his method is similar to what I'd recommend: First go big brush all green, then small green for stems/the small leaf, then big pink, then small pink for areas I couldn't safely cover, then I choose the small brush for the big blue flowers and the small ones, then the small brush for the yellow dots. Or you really go big green, big pink, big blue, then small yellow, small pink, small blue, small green, eraser.

The painting game isn't part of what has been fixed/improved so it needs its own topic. In fact, it is worse now. Think I will start a topic in the problems thread.

Edit: Just found a topic started by Smurfy102 in problems thread. Bongfish are aware of it.

Still can't visit most friends on android. Their outdated villages are still showing and therefore say they need to update. As is my village still showing old levels..
But I can visit AND even gift some Ios friends.

Thank you Bongfish! I really like that the game loads faster. Loading screen is indeed so much quicker! Visiting each area is very fast now! Perhaps later we could have an option to skip dreamy ship animation (Beeline told us it's not possible in the past, but I didn't believe that).

Btw, we haven't got 1.48.0 bug reports. Is it the same as 1.49.0 ?

Yeah, that might be one of the reasons. The same as when peoples ask for digging/diving patch which they said cannot be done (so that they continue to purchase EOs or anything for resources).

I hate when they said it cannot be done when we have examples that it can be done. Loading animation for island (but not with feather) and can't make digging patch (but they can do farm plots)

I'm in no hurry. Bongfish can take their time and make it happens sometimes in the future. I'm happy for these changes they made.

Yes I know Spelling Bee said that it's incomplete on 1.48.0. That's why I'm asking if 1.49.0 is the updated one or they simply forgot to post it

I also feel that the previous developers took their time on anything that would help players but certainly acted promptly on anything that helped thier bottom line. A dedicated digging patch would have made resources easier to get, while a desire to get rid of the ship animation may have encouraged people to become a VIP and earn Feathers.

I think we all remember that any bugs the benefitted the players were closed almost as soon as they found out about them, yet any bugs that benefitted the game itself, well those were just so hard to track down.......

True, I guess we could have digging patches like we have plots. Buy small patches, place them wherever you want them, buy something like Farmer that allows you a dig all/collect all and the you go.
Guess it could be the same for diving. In my case, that would mean I'd fill the whole water area though, but a dive all option would be splendid. And to have something done about the shells. Yes, I want the xp. No, I don't want to place them individually and then delete them one by one.

I guess forgot to post it/not ready to do so. Because it should have mentioned the planet fix, for example, if it had been a complet list of the fixes for the two most recent updates.

I noticed the general improvement that has been done and I appreciate it. But I don't like the absence of a Logo "Smurf's Village" at the beginning of the game; just to enter immediatly is not a good idea, I don't see other apps (among my favourite) that have "abolished" the title card. So I hope you'll put it again, just with a only "Start" botton, but an introduction should be reintegrated.

Mine still has the Smurfs Village blue screen, followed by the loading screen with Bongfish, then the update information (showing what's new) before going into the game. Same as always. The only time it goes straight into the game is if I've closed it completely or crashed etc. Same as always.

chickadee2013 The Main Menu where you would press "Play" has been removed. This is what everyone is talking about. If you have updated to version 1.49.0 or 1.49.1, then you no longer have the old Main Menu and will go straight into the game after the Bongfish screen has finished loading.

Unlike supersmurf, I am glad for how fast I can get into the game now. I see what they mean, but I appreciate that I don't have to slowly load the first screen, then the what's new one, and only then get into the game. I don't know if adding the screen again but with just a start button would make the loading time significantly shorter than before. Personally, I am glad the screen is gone. So 'Thanky You' from me for that.

I haven't used the exit button a single time since I started playing this game. I always left it via home button and closed the app by swiping it away. Worked just fine.

When I hit back button (Android), I get some message like "Do you want to exit Smurf's Village?" with Yes or No choice. Don't you (IOS users) have something like that?

No we don't. You just hit the home button to exit the app. it remains running in the background as long as the device has the resources to run it....so the next time you open it it may open right up or it may open on the blue welcome screen.

Being able to add Facebook friends is a very big change Bongfish! Well done! If only I had Facebook haha. Oh well, good for some and good on you guys because adding cross-platform is a big deal!

Can you tell me if the following grove bugs have been fixed yet? I haven't seen any evidence of it and no mention of a fix. Thank you.

chickadee2013 The issues with the Blank Spots in the Main Village was fixed in a recent update by Bongfish. You should now be able to place things in those empty spaces.

The issue with the 90 Seed Cloud expansion was fixed too.

You should have no issues with placing Fireman in your Grove. As far as I am aware no one is currently having problems with him. There were a few minor things such as a Graphical glitch that was occurring back a couple of months ago, but that has been fixed as well.

Hello Spelling Bee. It must be just my game then. I couldn't remove the cloud barrier. How recently was the cloud barrier fixed?

As for the blank spaces. I placed the tiles and it corrupted my main village. I noticed a crop field missing when I went back to my main village. I tried to place another one but it wouldn't let me and then I noticed a couple of other things were out of place, so the bug is still there. Once I removed the water tiles and recovered my game there was no problem in my main village.

chickadee2013 The 90 Seed Cloud Expansion thingy was back in the April update if I remember correctly and was fixed in the following May update.

Regarding the Blank spaces, I thought you were referring to the other issue with blank spaces. (Large areas in the village where nothing could be placed) I didn't realize you meant specifically that you had an issue after placing a Water tile. If you have a reproducible bug with your water tiles in the main Village it would be worth submitting at ticket with Customer Support. They can then take a look and see if they can reproduce it. Thank you for all.the great fixes. I'm seeing a few issues.

On Android, I'm only seeing outdated friends' villages. I know for certain the ones on my map are from friends who stopped playing the game long ago.

Also, loving the new menu setup and loading the game immediately after the load screen finishes.

When I exit the game, sometimes I am taken to the old Blue Play menu and sometimes the "are you sure you want to exit" message appears. It's not consistent.

Also, the game hangs in limbo if I try to.exit the game from any land mass other than the Mainland.

ETA 7/23/17: The game also hangs in limbo when I exit the game from the Mainland as of yesterday.
