Carol - I haven't been in the forum in a while. I saw your prior post so I thought I'd give you an update. My shingles rash is gone. It was largely gone after 10 days. I was out of work for 6 business days. I still have nerve pain like a dull headache around my eyebrow on the left hand side. Sometimes I'll get 2 to 3 hours of it going away, but then it comes back. Near the time for pain meds, it intensifies and sometimes pulsates. It isn't dibilitating pain, rather it is more annoying pain. Doctor said six weeks was likely the earliest before the nerve pain will go away and sometimes takes months. The nerve pain medicine makes me draggy and tired, too.
They'll give the shingles shot now to anyone over 50. it is around 60% effective and it doesn't prevent shingles rather if you get shingles, the shot makes it less severe. So, I'm doing much better but still have aways to go before things get back to normal.

Glad to hear you are doing better, Scott. I know several people who have endured shingles. Not pleasant.

Thank you for the information and I really hope you get back to normal ASAP. I honestly don't recall how long my dad had it for. I know I saw him but only a short time. My parents probably advised me to stay away. One dr told me I HAD to have had the chicken pox but didn't notice ????. I did not return to him.

Thanks for the update Scott! Wow I knew the actual rash was awful, but I didn't know you could have nerve pain for so long afterward! I really hope that goes away for you in weeks and not months, constant pain is very draining. I'm going to check out the pharmacies around here that give it and just go for it. Thanks for informing us! Take care!

Love, love, LOVE cherry blossoms--my daughter & I both.
When we were first married (a loooong time ago--lol!), my husband & I lived in the Washington, DC area, so we always enjoyed seeing the cherry blossom trees there in Spring. Nowadays we have one small tree in our yard. I think its going to be awhile before it blooms this year, though; mid-May, I'm guessing. My daughter also has cherry blossoms as part of her room decor.
Anyway, you are quite welcome. Just using up some of my extra SDs now that we know the game will eventually not work anymore.
